Learning Objectives:

• Describe the clinical burden of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
• Explain the principle of CT-based liver fat quantification, its strengths and limitations, and possible confounders that can mimic and mask coexisting steatosis
• Define MRI-based proton density fat fraction (PDFF), MRI strategies that allow for accurate estimation of liver fat content, and its clinical implementation
