Learning Objectives:
- Describe the value and importance of procedural training early on in medical residency.
- Discuss the fundamentals in designing and producing low-cost training phantoms for interventional skills training, including preparing gelatin, understanding the effects of different additives on US visibility, and preparing models for fluoroscopy.
- Learn to design basic gelatin phantoms for US-guided biopsy, fluoroscopy-guided lumbar puncture, US-guided venipuncture, and cone-beam CT–guided biopsy and drainage training.
