He reviewed typical benign patterns such as hemangioma and focal nodular hyperplasia, and highlighted suspicious features like ill-defined margins, heterogeneity, and diffusion restriction. Several case-based examples illustrated the importance of correlating imaging with symptoms and laboratory findings, including infectious and parasitic mimics, IgG4-related inflammatory pseudotumor, atypical focal nodular hyperplasia, and sclerosed hemangioma.<br /><br />A recurring theme was that many liver lesions are benign, and an atypical presentation of a common lesion is more likely than a rare diagnosis. When imaging is inconclusive, MRI, follow-up, or biopsy may be needed to avoid misdiagnosis and unnecessary surgery. The session ended with discussion of cirrhosis-related risk stratification (LI-RADS), metabolic liver disease, and the growing but still limited role of artificial intelligence in liver imaging.
