Quality Essentials Certificate Program
Introduced in 2011, the RSNA Quality Essentials Certificate program is designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate a threshold level of knowledge in various quality improvement domains. Participants in designated RSNA quality courses are recognized for their achievements, and also gain knowledge in quality improvement, its significance to radiology, and best-practice quality improvement techniques.
To earn a Quality Essentials Certificate, participants must answer correctly a minimum of 80% of the questions on the QI: Understanding Error and Improvement in Diagnosis | Domain: Radiologist Performance Improvement (2017) online course CME test.
Each Quality Improvement Course is assigned to one of the following four domains:
Quality Improvement in Your Practice (QIP)
Staff and Patient Safety (SPS)
Customer Satisfaction (CS)
Radiologist Performance Improvement (RPI)
Additionally, the RSNA offers an Advanced Level Quality Certificate (ALQC). To be quality for an ALQC, participants must earn a QEC in each of the four domains and be a primary author on an RSNA Quality Storyboard, presented at an RSNA Annual meeting within the last 5 years.
